The publication of SERIAL, early 2009, marked the beginning of a writing collaboration between Blake Crouch, Jack Kilborn, and Joe Konrath. The first (free) novella expanded to a novel and two years later has spawned several sequels, including Birds Of Prey and KILLERS. With SERIAL KILLERS, featuring the killers from most if not all the other books by Crouch, Kilborn, and Konrath, the series culminates in unbelievable mayhem, as you’d expect. The above poster shows how large and incestuous the Crouch-Kilborn-Konrath family has become, which family show up where, and the chronology of it all. Enjoy. For a larger format of the poster please email me.

But the story doesn’t end with SERIAL KILLERS - there is more!

Out soon is STIRRED (cover art by Carl Graves). It features Crouch’s biggest villain Luther Kite and Konrath’s indestructible Jacqueline ‘Jack’ Daniels going head to head. STIRRED will be available from 22 November but can be pre-ordered from Amazon today.

Brendan Dubois is probably one of the most prolific short story writers around, with over a hundred stories published in anthologies and magazines. Death Of A Gemini is a collection of ten military mysteries. The title story tells of an F-14 pilot flying missions over Afghanistan shortly after 9/11, haunted by the memory - and possible ghost - of his dead brother, killed during the World Trade Center attacks.
This great anthology also includes an author forward and afterward, the publication history of each story, and Brendan’s insight on how each story was written and published. Buy Death Of A Gemini from Amazon today.

Tucker Mayer’s cover for Little Girl Gone I designed sometime last year. This amazing novel is now live, available as ebook and as paperback.

My thoughts go out to those close to Steve Jobs. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today if it hadn’t been for him - his products changed my profession and my life - for that I am forever grateful. May Apple continue to build on his legacy so I can buy their products for at least another 24 years and continue doing what I’m doing.

At Bouchercon now!

Will start my trip that will eventually bring me to St Louis and Bouchercon2011 this weekend. But first two weeks in The Netherlands, visiting family, friends, and a few clients. It is NOT a holiday, as some people think. I’ll be working until I leave for my trip to the US. First stop Durango, Colorado - digging shallow graves in Blake Crouch’s back yard. Sharing a room with Blake and Marcus in St Louis. If it becomes Hangover 3 I will probably be most similar to Zach Galifianakis. Will be back in Wellington 24 September.
The above is a poster I designed for Bouchercon2011. The central element of the poster also features on a t-shirt design.

The interview by Joe D’Agnese reminded me of the covers I designed about a year ago as a pitch to Ron Rash, an author whose work I greatly admire, and would love to design for. He found the illustrations wonderful, graciously allowed me to publish them on my website, and referred me to his agent. Which sadly is where the story ended. Following are a 5 of the 9 covers I designed, all stories part of Chemistry and Other Stories, available from Amazon. Buy this collection - it is a wonderful introduction to Rash’s amazing stories set in the Appalachians. (No endorsement by Ron Rash, his agent or his publisher is implied).

Earlier this year Joe D’Agnese published The Scientist & The Sociopath, True Science Stories, a collection of true scientific stories. Jersey Heat is his first novel. Set around 1993 during a hot and hazy summer in New Jersey, this excellent environmental thriller introduces a wide range of characters, from both sides of the track.
Buy Jersey Heat from Amazon today and you receive two bonuses:
- Your purchase entitles you to a coupon good for a free copy of the author’s nonfiction eBook, The Scientist & The Sociopath, True Science Stories.
- A free, 3-chapter excerpt of the new horror novel, Haven House, by author Stuart Connelly.

I think this is a first, for me anyway. A t-shirt with one of my covers, worn by Barry Eisler, the author of The Ass Is A Poor Receptacle For The Head.
